Albion took on league leaders Clifton, who are unbeaten this season and have only had 41 points scored against them.

Albion played well in a match that was never going to be easy as they travelled to top of the League Clifton. A times they were looking after the ball well but Clifton were exceptionally well drilled.
With the danger of the counter attack Clifton turned the ball over on many occasions ceasing on any opportunity and making Albion pay. Although Albion did have a good period when they kept Clifton away from the score sheet for a full 25 minutes.
Whilst Albion came away having 62 points against without troubling the scorers themselves they did put on a creditable performance and the referee said that Albion had played well and the score did not represent the keenness that the game was played.
Clifton were playing in Premiership One last season and it looks as though their stay in prem 2 will be as short as Harlequins was in Nation League One for the men's game. Clifton had a number of internationals in their side that were not available for many league matches.
Nancy Stone had just one opportunity to put points on the board from a penalty, when Clifton were caught offside, but unfortunately it was not successful but that did not stop the players voting her the player of the match.
Claire Steer stood in as captain for Sam Bunyan and put in a good performance, and with Claire in as hooker Jo Holden had to move back to flanker to get a start.
Verity Waters played well in her debut tackling anything that moved and was very confident in her play.

Tristian Forster was pleased with effort all the players put in and the way they responded to each score that Clifton took. There are a lot of things we can take from this match and there are things we will be working on before the trip back to London when they take on third placed Saracens II.
Albion will be looking for revenge after the 10 - 33 loss when Saracens came down to Brickfields at the beginning of October. Report
