Albion hold on as Redruth score twice in the last 15 minutes to come within 2 points of the visitors.

Ladies were on the right end of the result. With 10 players unavailable for selection for various reasons it was not going to be an easy match and although it was billed as a friendly it was going to be tough.

Albion were beaten by the gamesmanship of Redruth early on and gave away 3 penalties but only one on these was converted into points. Their points came when Albion were penalised for not rolling away at a ruck and was kicked for three points in the 7th minute.

With the game much a stalemate until the 28th minute when Redruth were penalised for not rolling away Tracy Corby slotted the three points to level the scores.

Beth Simmons picked up an interception deep in her own half in the 35th minute before running the whole length of the pitch to touch down which was converted by Track Corby. bringing the half time score to 3 - 10.

Two substitutions were made at half time with Tally Francis coming on for Barbara Jensen and Vee Thompson for Megan Higgins .

With some great team work form Kim Davey and Beth Simmons in the 60th minute, Sonia Clatworthy finished the move with a touch down under the posts which was converted by Tracy Corby. 3 - 17.

With Jo Holden in the sin bin for illegal use of the boot at the ruck Redruth had the upper hand and scored a push over try which was not converted. 8 - 17.

A penalty try was awarded against Albion in the last minute of the match which with the conversion brought the score to 15 - 17.

There were lots of positives that can be taken from the match. The team were aware this was going to be a tough match that works well in the preparation for the Old Albanian Saints match next week.
