Warriors take a 6 try victory over Redruth to stay top of the Tamar Shield. Two tries for Chris Lowrie in the second half playing at hooker.
Westcountry Warriors 42
Redruth Development 0
Playing on the top pitch the Warriors produced a great performance with a strong side. Of note was that for the second Warriors match in a row Wihan Neethling played a full 80 minutes and having a 100% kicking record. One kick was handed to David Delaney while Wihan was having an injury dealt with but that was kicked as well.

The match saw a full 80 minutes for new Argentinean Mariano Castany at blind side flanker and pretty impressive he was.

Chairman of rugby Graham Dawe bedded down at loose head Chris Lowrie spending 30 minutes or so at hooker.

Tom Arscott started the match and picked up a try but without his signature dive and went off in the second half with a limp.

With things fairly even for the first 20 minutes Warriors played their catch and drive move on the left of the pitch 7 metres from the line. As the referee was signalling that the throw in was completed Ross Allen joined the maul and was penalised. After Redruth cleared the ball the next play ended with the ball being passed to the right wing for Tom Arscott to collect and score under the posts. Wihan Neethling had an easy kick to take Warriors to 7 - 0.

With a driving maul on the right hand side on the half hour Sila Va'Enuku was there ready to touch down and Wihan kicked the conversion from the touchline.
In the last minute of the half Redruth went over the Warriors line as a maul and were unlucky not to been awarded a try. Despite being seen by spectators, Plymouth ones at that, neither the referee or touch judge saw the grounding and a scrum 5 was awarded.
With 5 minutes played of the second half Chris Lowrie came on for James Owen and bedded down at hooker and the throw in duties were handed to Albion's Chairman of Rugby, Graham Dawe.

10 minutes in Matt Newman had an easy try that saw him almost walk under the posts after the ball had first been played to the right, Wihan made easy work of the conversion. 21 - 0

Warriors go over the Redruth line but the ball is judged to have been held up and a 5 metre scrum is awarded on 18 minutes. Jake Childs picks the ball up from the back of the scrum and charges for the line and after a dummy to Mat Newman goes over the line. With Wihan receiving treatment for a head injury David Delaney kicks the conversion 5 metres in from the right hand touchline. 28 - 0.

Within two minutes of the restart Sila takes the ball from just inside the Redruth half and runs for the line passing the ball to Chris Lowrie to score his first try to the left of the posts. The ball was slotted between the posts by Wihan to bring the score to 35 - 0.

Chris Lowrie's second almost came a few minutes later when he was chasing down a kick ahead but a Redruth player got to the ball just before him and was awarded a 22 dropout.
After Warriors had been warned by the referee of killing the ball the next person to be found guilty, Sila Va'Enuku was rewarded with 10 minutes on the side line.
Chris did get his second try after he had taken the ball to the 5 metre line before a break down and then recycled the ball taking it over the line to claim the points. Needless to say Neethling converted.
The last 10 minutes of the match did not produce any additions with the final score being 42 - 0.
This win keeps Warriors firmly at the top of the Tamar Shield.
