British Limbless Ex-Service Men's Association were collecting at the Nottingham match and will receive a cheque at the Leeds match on the 28th April.

British Limbless Ex-Service Men's Association

BLESMA is a National Charity, for Limbless and Ex-Service Men and Women, their dependants and Widows. The objectives of the Association are to promote the welfare of all those of either sex who have lost a limb or limbs, or one or both eyes, or the use of limbs as a result of service in any branch of Her Majesty's Forces or Auxiliary Forces and to assist needy dependants of such service limbless. We will also help those who lose a limb after service.

36 service men and women have come back from recent conflicts having lost limbs and the charity does a lot of work helping them among thousands on their books.

Paul Goodall, who lost his first leg whilst serving in the Royal Navy and his second after 40 years of use and abuse, was ratterling his collecting box at the Nottingham match on Saturday. 

Paul says that they do not not often go out and collect money from the public but when invited by Vince Jones he was pleased to have the opportunity. Everyone knows of the British Legion but but not many people are aware of BLESMA who have been going for 75 years this year.

The collection has been counted and a cheque will be presented back to Paul on behalf of BLESMA at the last home match of the season.
