Whatever you think of forwards, Frank, you shouldn't really refer to Altan as the "Scrum Coach"...

Hopefully only about six will go including James Owen and Mike Lewis and the two already announced to the pirates. That would be a good base to work from. Fingers crossed.

Was at the Albion Select v 29 Commando game yesterday. When 29 Commando scored a try, th eannouncement was that the try scorer was hoping ot join Albion in the summer. Only problem was that I did not catch a name or number.
Anyone else there that could shed any light???

Can't see a report in the Herald on the game E.A. maybe in tomorrow's edition then we can see the try scorers.
In the case of a service person joining the club because of their being away at times and also getting a fulltime wage from the goverment would I be right in thinking that they would be paid less than a full time player at brickfields, makes sense to me.

i think you might be right there Noibla, makes sense to tap in to the local forces talent.
Gareth Evans is a prime example of what can ne achieved
It was an entertaining game yesterday. Not too many recogniseable names in the Albion Select side but some good performances and for a worthy cause. Pity there was not a larger crowd to support.

Talk here in Coventry is that Albion have signed the Canadian back row we had last season. Aaron Carpenter at the moment back in Canada. As I say at the moment only rumour.

Words from Herald.
Carpenter is due to move to Brickfields from relegated Championship club Coventry.Coventry have yet to be relegated
The back-row forward, who scored an impressive five tries in 17 league starts for the struggling Midlanders this year, is being lined up to replace Kyle Marriott, who is joining the Cornish Pirates. According to my records he has made 20 starts
It is believed a deal was agreed with Carpenter, who played in the last World Cup, as soon as Albion were aware Marriott would be leaving, although the Brickfields club have so far refused to confirm or deny the move.
But as you say if it is the Herald it must be right!

That picture of Welsh Pirate centre Steve Winn looks an awful lot like Leeds' Italian fly half Alberto Di Bernado!!
Also I think you will find Steve has played a few more games for us than that! (over 100).
Steve Winn is a class player and most Pirates are very sad to lose him - he is 33 now so that may be why he has been let go but had a superb season for us this season just finished so will be a very good signing for you lot if true.

In the R.T's today, L.W. say they are keen to add Liam Gibson to the new players that are being added to their squad it says.
Also, and make of this what you will, Dawsey said in an interview in the same edition when being questioned about the plans for this coming close seasons training, saying that the lads have been given six weeks off and were starting a couple of weeks earlier than last year "The fact is we have a lot more players around this year so it is an opportunity to put some good preparation work in so we are not chasing our tails"

My opinion is we have better players developing at brickfields and wish to play for the club ,shirt and us the supporter ,well above the mercenaries that think they are better than they are .

Looking at the Bristol site it seems our old boys are going. So with Alfie and DWS leaving last year. Lee,Luke and Tom this year it seems they will only have Ed left. I don't want to sound bitter and twisted but i will say it anyway.
NOW THEY KNOW WHAT WE FELT LIKE!

Carps made it through the Churchill Cup relatively unscathed and is now looking forward to his Wedding! Barring any injuries there, he should be showing up in Plymouth in August providing the club can get his Visa stuff ready.
Looking forward to seeing a few games with the Canadian contingent in full stride.

Just seen on Camborne RFC website that Sam Matavesi has signed for PARFC.
He is the younger brother of Josh Matavesi, who at Cheifs.
Sam played recently in the Warrriors game against the Armed Forces and is a good number 7.
