The race for 3rd place.

Looking ahead at the five remaining fixtures.

With only five more matches left the race for 3rd and 4th place in National League One is on. With all three teams in that race, Pirates (71points), Albion (61points) and Titans (59points) all failing to win on Saturday and Albion the only team to get a bonus point Albion move closer to third but is it going to be too little too late?

Looking at current form and league positions the punters would probably put the top five teams at the end of the season as follows:-

Quins
Bedford
Pirates
Titans
Albion

Albion will need to work harder than our recent results seem to indicate we have been to hold on to our 4th place.  We still have to play the current top three teams and all away. We have beaten Pirates and Bedford at home and we now know that Quins are beatable, but we know that they will all be very hard games. Our two home games will probably be tame in comparison, London Welsh and Sedgley Park, but Sedgley park beat the Pirates on Saturday so who knows.

Titans however seem to have the easiest ride of the whole group playing three of their five games at home and all their opposition in the bottom six!  They have played all the teams above themselves but, on the other hand, they have only won two of their last seven matches .

Pirates have not been doing to good recently either, only wining two of their last six matches.  They have Quins and Albion to face both at home also Otley and Coventry away, who will not be walkovers.

Quins seem as though they will complete the season on top and return to the premiership after their short visit to National League One.

Bedford being 12 points clear of Pirates and 13 points behind Quins seem destined for second place.
