Connacht to face Saracens in the City of London - 25/08/11

Aviva Premierpship finalists Saracens have announce a pre-season fixture againnst Connacht, to be held in the City of London (The Square Mile) at what is one of the most valuable Rugby Grounds in World Rugby......
Saracens return to the City of London on Thursday 25th August when they face Connacht at the Honourable Artillery Company ground, kick off is 6.45pm.
Building on the success of the club’s ground breaking match against USA
in the heart of the City of London earlier this season, Saracens will
face the Irish province in a pre-season friendly at the historic venue.
Tickets for this game are on sale now – just call the Ticket Office on 01727 792800 to attend this unique occasion.
The ground will open at 4.30pm with food and drink available including
a barbeque. There will be a curtain raiser match kicking off at 5.45pm
between two invitational 10 sides before the main game kicks off at
6.45pm.
Tickets are £20 for standing, £35 for standard seating in the grandstand and £50 for padded premium seats.

Good build up for the season now including the Premiership Champions away. Congrats to Saracens and Munster on their wins.

Does any one know the full pre season schedule yet? My understanding is that we have games against Exeter, an Ireland XV, and Saracens - the premiership champions. Are there any others planned and if so when?
What home fixtures can we look forward to before the Magners starts.

Thats all the friendlies so far, there might possibly be another home friendly, doubt it though.

Looks like Exeter is the only home one. I don't think there'll be any more.

They definitely should try to get access to the Ireland game under the Connacht ST. I'd imagine that that would draw in a good few extra ST sales if it was advertised.

Not too sure if having the Connacht Ireland game under the season ticket makes much sense being honest. It would be more to do with the IRFU than Connacht, and its not being played in Connacht. Who knows though, they just might make an incentive to get people to the game, but being played at such a small venue I would doubt it.

I think it would be a good way for the IRFU to "invest" in Connacht without committing to more money. Plus it would generate extra profile for the game which would also benefit the IRFU.

Same as, although it mightn't be a high profile game, could evne be free admission or for a small token price, cant seeing it becoming part of the season tickets though.

Separate entity to the half-international. Some class of spin off to UCD I'm guessing. I wonder if we could fill a bus to Belvedere?

Ah, get me to Old Bev and I'll walk up to Belfield (not a good spot for hitchihiking, none of the Jackeens'd stop to offer a lift.
