The Rhinos welcome back England internationals Danny McGuire and Kevin Sinfield to the squad, who both missed last Monday’s pre season encounter with Hull FC.
Leeds will be without Brent Webb, Ryan Bailey, Greg Eastwood, Danny Buderus, Rob Burrow, Simon Worrall and Ben Jones-Bishop for the opening game of the season. Burrow is expected to return next week. Whilst the others (excluding Eastwood) are all recovering from closed season surgery.
It’s been a cold, snowy week this week across Yorkshire, but the Leeds Rhinos have been able to train as usual, with thanks to Leeds United, who have allowed the Rhinos to train in their indoor facilities.
Celtic have named their strongest side for the game, but haven’t participated in a pre season game, so the Crusaders are not match fit.
Six of the Crusaders’ new signings are set to make their debuts. This includes former Wests Tigers prop Ryan O’Hara who was one of the eight players who arrived in Wales on Sunday after only being issued with a work permit last week.

Celtic Crusaders squad: Duggan, Dyer, Hannay, Dalle Cort, Blackwood, Quinn, Van Dijk, O'Hara, Bryant, Peek, Mapp, Chalk, Smith, Lupton, Flower, J. James, Tangata-Toa, Beasley, Budworth.

Weather in Leeds: The weather for Friday in Leeds is looking cold, but bright: Throughout the day the Met Office are predicting sun, with highs of three degrees, compared to the last Super League game the Rhinos played in, which was the Grand Final, where the temperature was twelve. The Headingley Carnegie Stadium will see lows of minus five. The temperature for the game is expected to be around the freezing mark. It looks like the game will be going on, as the ground staff covered the pitch earlier this week.
