I see Coen is not in the England U20 squad. Hope that means he gets another start.

This looks a ‘gun’ of a team who I can’t see losing despite Rob stoking the Trailfinders fire with his comments about Champo teams in Prem Cup.

Strong Chiefs team at home, has to be a win for us.

Chiefs 39. Ealing 12

Almost as interesting will be the crowd numbers. Hopefully more than last week.

They’ve got some real talent in their line up - Tom Collins, Jordy Reid, Matt Cornish and Bobby de Wee, so I think they’ll have some fire power and will be really up for it. Hopefully we’re approaching it with the right mindset.
Chiefs 29; Trailfinders 24
Btw, I’m glad to see Lefty Zigiriadis is on the loose head and not the tight head…

Solid Ealing team. Looks like Michael Dykes, formerly of London Irish, could be one to watch from the bench for Ealing.

I have a feeling our bench will be the difference, though.

Chiefs 38 - 21 Ealing.

Cueto wasn't in touch, at least in my dreams.

Molina should be starting ahead of Capstick, good to see Coen getting another outing.

Clarification please.
If we win tomorrow and Falcons win tonight, is the final up there in Ice Station Zebra?

Yes!
If Bath win tonight and we win tomorrow it’s at Sandy Park (assuming we can get round the no games on Friday night planning rule…). It’s a tricky one - do we prefer a cold and wet Friday night at Kingston Park, or being steamrollered by Bath at home?!

I'd rather Barf at home than that awful pitch up there.

I think that Newcastle are the only club to have a legitimate reason to have one of those dreadful plastic pitches. It’s not that cold up there but bl**dy wet. Glad Coen is playing again a real quality imho.

A game on paper we should win comfortably but it depends which chiefs team turns up. Looking at the Bath selection Newcastle must be favourites playing at home to get through and host the final.

Weld the holes back together?

If we play like we did against Sale we'll win comfortably. If we play like we did against Glaws we'll lose badly!! I have a feeling it will be tight. Like just about everybody, bar the coaches, I'd prefer to see an international second row playing over Capstick, we look a bit lightweight in the back five for me.

Feel a bit sorry for Coen being hailed as the new Messiah by both club and supporters alike and the publicity given to his debut (not afforded to others) was World Cup winning level!!
I really do hope he comes through as Chiefs need a 10 but to pull him from an U20 cap.. are the Chiefs really that desperate as whilst he was ok on his debut feel the other 10’s would have been a little envious given the forward dominance. The same happened to Iwan Jenkins a few years ago and he’s not played for the Chiefs since.
Let’s give Coen some breathing space as the same with 20’s behind a totally dominant pack and a few games for Uni when on parity have been poor. However with them not having signed an experienced 10 outside of Skinner feel he may be given the reigns next season.
