I think some of the changes from last week are further injuries, Hodge Capstick and maybe Ridl which is a shame as he is such a good watch. Our injury list appears to grow by every game there must be around 12 players out injured at present, none are ever short term. Shame Coen not given some time.
Looks like another wet weather game.

Don't know most of the Barf squad so I think we look stronger and should get the win. Chiefs 31 - 17 Barf

Wouldn't blame him if he did. He's had 191 minutes rugby across 7 games this season Source: All Rugby stats which isn't enough for a 21 year old who needs to learn to play a key position in a team. Haydon-Wood back on the bench this week, a much stronger bench too as I suspect Rob is keen to progress. My only hope is that if we do he continues to trust the likes of Worley-Brady, Batson, Wimbush, Ridl and give some meaningful minutes to Beckerleg, Bailey, Coen as they could be the future, given a chance.

This weekend could be a tough challenge, there's some young but experienced players in that Bath side, as well as a couple of older heads too. Did make me chuckle that JvG has made Butt captain.

Us 34 Bath 31

First choice in the Prem Cup. Your club is utterly pathetic.

You're not exactly sending a weak side down yourselves.

Chiefs 25 Bath 20 though, let's keep things optimistic.

Suspect Ridl is being rested, he said he felt pretty battered last week, although no specific injury.

I have to say, I have to love it when a Bath supporter starts crowing about the team we put out as though we have so many more options!!

Bath have the highest academy salary spend in the premiership of around a million pounds. 3 times what we spend. As academy salaries are capped some simple maths says they have approx three times the number of academy players to select into these squads. Its hardly surprising they have some very good ones!

Out side of a couple of backs I can't find any academy forwards we could have picked?

I have no problem with Bath being in the position to be able to spend their money but there shouldn't be a problem the other way when we haven't got that number of players.

The forecast looks pretty average for this time of year, but hopefully we’ll avoid another deluge. It’s always hard to predict when you’re unfamiliar with many of the opposition players, but I’ll go for my usual:
Chiefs 31; Bath 26

You're unfamiliar with them because they're younger squad players and academy/uni lads. You should try playing yours sometime. Enjoy your 20-30 point win.

Always nervous when Barf come around. Well coached, quality players be they first team, academy, nursery .. they always give a very good account of themselves... remember last year against basically our first team?

Best to ignore him. Btw -do not automatically assume he is a Bath supporter. A quick search shows he trolls on several boards (has not posted in last 3 month son Bath's) but no dominant forum.

It looks like lineoutball is equally unfamiliar with our academy/uni lads…

A difficult one to call. A Barf side very similar to this one beat our first team last year, however we are a different beast this year. Concerned for our Lineout again, we are very limited in jumpers. Would hope our front row has the edge, which may well be crucial given the conditions. Shame Ridl is out, he's on form at the moment and playing with real confidence. Hopefully, hone advantage counts. Chiefs 24 Barf 19

Im frustrated Coen is being played. Is Baxter trying to force him out? Sorry I am a Chiefs supporter but this team is not in li e with the intention of this competition. To be honest I'm embarrassed by the number of 1stvteam squad members and the lack of opportunity given to the senior academy/ uni lads. This should be a comfortable win Ex 48 Bath 22

Coen's absence is frustrating but not entirely pointless.

It's our last pool game in the Cup and we need to secure a bonus point victory to give us the best possible chance of advancing to the knockouts.

Considering Bath and Gloucester have a game in hand after this weekend, Baxter is absolutely within his right to go "full beans" and increase the chances of a home semi-final.

Cueto wasn't in touch, at least in my dreams.

Listening to Baxter’s pre match video it looks like we have significant injuries across our back five as Greg was the only player available to make the bench!

This is the same club that perpetually cancelled A League games as they couldn't field any props! It could be suggested that they brought the A league to it's demise. Very sad indeed.

All this nonsense about playing a strong team we have probably 2/3 first choice starters, for all the idiotic comments on the Bath board they forget they have selected a British and Irish Lions player in their starting 15 !!

The Bath board does have more than it's fair share of smug, holier than thou posters. There is little acknowledgement that other clubs don't have the resources they do! They also seem to have short memories, I remember playing them in the Anglo Welsh final at Gloucester, when they fielded a complete first 15, and lost!

Last year they could have said we fielded our first 15 for the whole tournament and we wouldn't have been able to argue! Most of us disagreed with last year's selection and are much happier with how we've gone this year. If injuries had allowed I'm sure we'd have seen less first team players.

It may be that if he is 21 years old he is in his last year at Uni and is being given more time for Uni work. I think we have done this before for players in their last year at Uni
