After giving (a depleted) Saints team a fright last weekend, Bulls will be bullish and this could be a potential banana skin for us, as it was last season.. and we are missing a quality kicker with both Slade and Hodge out, Skinner is very inconsistent in that role. Could be a very close game.

Added to the fact it’s Kingston Park on a Friday night, what on earth could go wrong 🙈

This has got banana skin written all over it! There’s a lot of responsibility on Nick Lilley’s young shoulders, and we need our two Newcastle-bound players, Rigg and Tuima, to step up and put in a decent performance. NRB bullied Saints at the breakdown last week and we know we can be prone to give away penalties there. Also, their back three of Wade and Obatoyinbo x2, are seriously quick, so we’ll need Ollie, PB-B and Ridl to put them under real pressure on the high kicks. Thankfully the weather forecast isn’t too bad though, which is a relief.
Notwithstanding my doubts, I’ll be going with my usual:
NRB 26; Chiefs 31

I'd not thought about the lack of a kicker Ljs399, I'm now even more concerned about tomorrow night now!
As has been mentioned, Newcastle gave saints a real fright last week. I'm sure they'd look at our team sheet, and really fancy their chances.
It's a crucial couple of weeks for us, all goes well and we're right in the top four race, and through to the next round of the euro cup. If that happens with the injuries looking good for several big comebacks we could go into the final stages of the season with everything to play for. Of course if the opposite happens we'll have a fight to just make the top four!!
A trip up there is never easy, and with a much weakened side it's going to be very difficult. Having said that any side with aspirations of making the top four should get max points from this current Newcastle team, no disrespect intended.
I'm not feeling that positive for this. It's been mentioned a lot about the drop of in quality if players are injured, this side shows that up. I'd actually be happy with a couple of losing bonus points. I'm going Newcastle 30 Chiefs 24 really hope I'm wrong though!!

I agree with 691 and others above, this fixture is a definite banana skin.
Our record against Newcastle has always been poor for some reason and this looks like a seriously weakened side from that used in the last few Premiership fixtures.
🧠 - Newcastle 27 Chiefs 19
♥️ - Newcastle 23 Chiefs 24
Im going with my heart as usual. 23 -24

We are the better side, this one's ours to lose, if we turn up mentally and fight hard it's in the bag.

Lots of players missing unfortunately but a chance for others to put their hand up. A big game for Lilley I hope he goes well,
A cold Friday night on a plastic pitch is never an ideal situation for us so it may well be a tough night. Fingers crossed we go well.

Can’t believe that ‘bet365’ are offering NRB to be with 13.5 pts at 10/11 !!!!!!
Easy money to be made imo. I’m all over it. If Chiefs do win by such a margin I’ll be very happy to lose a quid or two.

i dont understand betting beyond simple odds
is that saying you will get 10/11 [i get that bit] if NRB are within 13.5 pts of Exeter [and exeter win]

Essentially, Chiefs have to win by a margin of at least 13.5 pts for the bet to lose

Yes I spotted that this morning. I haven't had a bet on a Chiefs game for a couple of years (became too unpredictable!). But today I went for +11.5 at 27/25. As for 'easy money to be made' I reckon that now I've done that, we'll win by a country mile.
Everyone can thank us later!

Looks like my banana skin prediction was unnecessarily gloomy - we definitely turned up, whereas NRB hardly fired a shot. What a difference from their performance last week. The second half was a bit ordinary but I’ll take that scoreline any day!
