Henson denies quit reports but Saders happy to talk

Though Gavin Henson and the Ospreys have denied reports that the back is about to walk out on rugby union, Saders chief executive Mike Turner has spoke out positively about a potential code-switch for the 2005 British Lion.

Rumours of a code-switch for Henson have been persistent since the Welsh international began to be spotted regularly at Cru's home fixtures at the Brewery Field.

Reports in The Sun claimed that Henson was set to stun Ospreys officials by quitting union - but the club and player have since denied such claims.

"I've certainly been having difficulties with the recurring injury but I have absolutely no intention of quitting the game." said Henson.

The Ospreys also released a statement in the face of speculation, stating: "Henson today (Monday) reported for duty as anticipated, receiving treatment for an ongoing groin injury, before asking to speak with club management to help scotch false rumours regarding his retirement."

However, Saders chief executive Turner has revealed that the club would welcome talks with Henson should the player consider switching codes and taking up professional rugby league.

"If Gavin wants to talk about playing for us, we will listen with great interest." said Turner.
