Purtell to South Wales?

The Celtic Crusaders have been linked with a swoop for Australian winger Adrian Purtell. The 24-year-old Canberra Raiders man has an impressive points scoring record in the NRL and could be set to seal a permanent switch to South Wales.

Purtell, a versatile back who can play on the wing or as a centre, has an impressive points-scoring record in Australia with the Raiders.

The towering Australian, standing 6"4 tall, was named as the club's Rookie of the Year in 2006 but as struggled with a few injury troubles.

The player is contracted with the Raiders until 2011 and the Saders would thus need to make a lucrative bid to complete any swoop.

However, the player may relish the chance to shine in the Super League and would be regarded as an impressive coup by the Newport-bound Cru.
