Wales entertain Ireland in crucial Sardis Road clash

Wales v, Ire

The Welsh rugby league side face a huge game on Sunday evening as they entertain Ireland at Pontypridd's Sardis Road. The winners will qualify for next weekend's European Cup Final - against the winners' of the Pool A clash between Scotland and Lebanon.

By the time Wales and Ireland kick-off on Sunday evening, they will know their potential opponents in the grand finale of  European Cup Finals' Day.

Scotland and the Lebanon do battle in Glasgow at 3pm, with the winners' set to share top billing at the Brewery Field next weekend.

Wales go into the game on the back of an 88-8 victory in Serbia, whilst Ireland beat the Eastern Europeans 82-0 the week before. That means a draw would be enough for the Irish, who will be hoping for further success after a promising showing at last year's World Cup.

Thankfully, Wales have no new injury concerns in the build-up to a game that is effectively a semi-final clash.

Crusaders players dominate the squad, with Ben Flower set to lead the team out on Sunday after passing a fitness test. It's live on Sky Sports - but, if possible, get down to Sardis Road and ensure a bumper crowd cheers on Iestyn Harris' young and largely inexperienced side.
