Scorpions odds plummet after Workington win

Odds move

The odds of the South Wales Scorpions winning promotion in their opening season have been slashed following Sunday's game. Those lucky enough to snap up the 100/1 prices on offer at Ladbrokes will be laughing as the highstreet bookie released new Championship One odds on Monday!

The bookmakers didn't give the South Wales Scorpions a hope of promotion in their inaugural campaign.

Ladbrokes slapped a 100/1 price tag on the fledgling club to lift the Championship One trophy and, similarly, 100/1 to win the Grand Final.

However, the odds have shifted to a remarkable degree following the Scorps' 22-20 opening day win over Workington.

Ladbrokes have now priced up the Scorpions at 14/1 to win the league championship and 12/1 to win the play-offs.

That shift is testimony to the Scorpions' superb first-half display against a well-established Workington outfit on Sunday afternoon.

Fans will get a better indication of how the South Walian club will do this season following the away game at Doncaster on March 14th.
