Scorpions smash Skolars to march on

The South Wales Scorpions produced a dominant display as they crushed the London Skolars 48-6 on Sunday afternoon. Anthony Seibold's men ran in eight tries as the side from the capital were swept away in Neath. 625 watched it.

The Skolars are expected to struggle at the foot end of the Championship One table for the duration of the campaign - so the Scorpions were expected to claim the points.

The Welsh side responded superbly with a dominant victory that maintains a hugely impressive start to the season.

Tries from Steve Parry, Loz Wildbore, Ben Flower, Cristiaan Roets, Barrie Phillips, Gil Dudson and a brace from Lloyd White secured a hefty win for the Scorpions.

A try from substitute Matthew Carter with only five minutes remaining proved scant consolation for the Skolars.

An improved attendance of 625 was at the Gnoll as the Scorpions sealed their third win of the new campaign. Next up is another home fixture - against the Hunslet Hawks on Bank Holiday Monday.

Great to see the attendance was up on the first game. Looking forward to Hunslet.

A solid performance ,Skolars didn't offer much attacking wise at all but that was largely down to the Scorpians defence making very few errors, working through the sets and maintaining their territorial advantage for the vast majority of the match.


Doncaster won today against York of all sides which shows that no one can be written off in this division just yet.
