Scorpions thump Gateshead to boost play-off hopes

South Wales Scorpions earned a club record win at The Gnoll on Sunday after demolishing bottom side Gateshead Thunder 70-16 after being 46-0 up at half-time. This result sets the club up nicely for the run inand a possible play off position. There are only two home games left in what has been a superb inaugural season for the Scorpions.

Scorpions can now look ahead to away fixtures at Rochdale and Oldham with renewed confidence after this thumping home win against Gateshead.

The away side improved significantly after the break - but, by then, the damage was done as Anthony Seibold's men led by a superb 46 point margin after the first 40 minutes.

Further scores followed after the break as South Wales RLFC boosted their chances of a play-off finish with a high-scoring rout over the division's weakest side.
