Scorpions out of action as Saders win in France

With the Scorpions out of action this weekend, the eyes of Welsh rugby league turned to France as Brian Noble’s Crusaders visited the Catalans Dragons. The Welsh Super League side claimed an excellent away win to keep hopes of a play-off finish alive.


6,208 were in attendance as the Saders came from behind to keep their top eight dream alive.

Peter Lupton bagged a late winner after tries from Weller Hauraki, Jason Chan and Rhys Hanbury kept the Saders in touch with their French counterparts.

The result proved an excellent warm up for next Sunday's Super League clash at the Gnoll as the Saders return to South Wales to entertain the Castleford Tigers.

Sadly, there will be no double-header for the Scorpions to look forward to next weekend. South Wales RLFC travel to Spotland to face Rochdale hoping to keep their own play-off dream alive.

I think Its a bad thing not having a double header with the Scorpions but there's nothing we can do about it now. Finances will dictate.

A great result in the circumstances, the difference between this and last season are quite clear.

Well done Crusaders. Win no 8. Honestly at a bookies in Wigan before the season started they were fancying you to lose all 27. Guess you have done well eh ???
