South Wales Scorpions edge closer to play-offs

Anthony Seibold's South Wales Scorpions are on the verge of a play-off place following Sunday's comfortable win over Doncaster at the Gnoll. The hosts ran over four tries on another excellent weekend for Rugby League in the Welsh Principality.

Tries from Loz Wildbore, Ashley Bateman, Lee Williams and Lewis Mills secured a comfortable home win for the Scorpions against struggling Doncaster.

The result puts the South Walians up to sixth in the Championship One table and means Seibold's men need only a point from next weekend's home clash against York to seal their place in the end-of-season play-offs.

The result follows the Crusaders' stunning late show against rock-bottom Harlequins on Friday evening.

Little over one thousand fans watched the bizarre 6pm kick-off, but two late tries sent the bulk of the attendance home happy as the Saders maintained their 100% record at the Gnoll with a fantastic result.

Welsh Rugby League is gathering momentum at a superb time.

Neither of the matches were great by the sounds of it, but you get the feeling its that familiar business end of the season, the results is what matter most of all

I hope that Anthony Seibold will enjoy next season and take us to the National League Premier. Best wishes Anthony.

I would be quite happy for us to take a bus full of fans up to A N Other Northern Town put in a gallant performance but fall short. Don't think after one season in existance we can really prepare for the Championship just yet considering many far longer established sides have fallen well short this year.

Sorry - have to disagree. In sport you must always take the chance of promotion and playing at a higher level especially in professional sport.

Success is never guaranteed.

I'd be delighted and amazed if we go up and would love to be involved in the final at Warrington!
