Scorpions continue search for new Head Coach

The South Wales Scorpions continue their search for a new coach after Anthony Seibold departed for family reasons. The club's directors face a huge task in replacing the Championship One coach of the year who, after Wales' European Cup campaign is over, will take charge of Mackay Cutters - a feeder club to NRL outfit North Queensland Cowboys.
Seibold is leaving the club after guiding the Scorpions to the Championship One play-offs in the club's inaugural year.
He will also resign from his duties with the Welsh international side following the European Cup campaign, which culminates in France next weekend.
Seibs will be sorely missed by all involved in Welsh rugby league after playing a crucial role in maintaining the sport's presence in South Wales over the last ten months.
The Scorpions enjoyed an impressive first season before crashing out of the play-off picture with a hefty defeat at Rochdale.
Scorpions must now replace the former London Broncos and Hull KR man – with Scorpions assistant Dan Clements, Paul Sculthorpe, Kevin Ellis and Kieron Cunningham amongst the names thrown forward by the club's fans.
After confirming his departure, Seibold said: "I cannot thank Phil Davies, Chairman of the South Wales Scorpions enough for his faith, support, friendship and enthusiasm this year.
"I was in a really dark place with regards to Rugby League after the way that the staff and players were treated at the Crusaders by the former Chairman and CEO in South Wales at the back end of 2009.
“After the relocation to Wrexham and with the arrival of new owners and coaching staff, I was … not enjoying my time at the club anymore and Phil gave me a wonderful opportunity back down in South Wales.
"Mark Rowley, Rob Buckley and John Brennan were also terrific in their support this year and I cannot thank them enough for their friendship. There are so many great people involved at Wales Rugby League and at the Scorpions and I have appreciated all their support.
“The players and coaching staff in Dan Clements, Hywel Davies and Ian Gibbons have been immense and we all really bought into creating a great Rugby League culture down here in South Wales - I will miss them all”.
