The real stuff begins...

Competitive RL gets under way at the Gnoll with the Challenge Cup tie v Dewsbury Rams on Sunday 6th March. Kick off is at 3pm. This is the Scorpions first ever competitive cup fixture and a win would take us into the 4th round with a possible tie against a Super League giant.....

Scorpions captain, Aled James said earlier this week:

"Sunday's game will be the toughest start for us which is good for us as we need some strong opposition before we start our league campaign next week," he said. "And Dewsbury are a very strong side.

"We've been through the videos and seen how they play. They're a big side, especially in the forwards, and it'll be tough on our ruck as we're a bit inexperienced. We don't carry as much size as they do but hopefully we'll still give them a tough game.

"The boys are very positive going into this game. They've done really well in the last few weeks and we had a really tough session on Tuesday leading into the game. Everyone's really excited about starting our competitive season and that starts on Sunday.

"There have been a lot of changes recently with new people coming in. We're all being kept on our toes and no-one's going to know the starting line-up until just before the game."
