Scorpions suffer another defeat at home to Whitehaven

Mark Rowley’s Scorpions showed a marked improvement at the Gnoll on Sunday, but could only pick up a losing bonus point against Whitehaven. Joe Burke bagged a late brace to grab the Scorpions a single point, after Neil Dallimore had ran over in the first-half in front of only 271 supporters in Neath.
Burke ran over two tries in the last five minutes as the
Scorpions rallied to rescue a bonus point against Whitehaven.
Substitute Dallimore had earlier scored with his first touch of the game on 25
minutes, but the visiting side were stronger for longer periods and take the
win back to Cumbria.
The hosts proved wasteful in the early stages as they looked for a
morale-boosting side, whilst Haven were prolific in attack as they notched up
four tries.
After heavy defeats against Dewsbury and at Doncaster, the result and late
double from Burke will boost the morale of the South Walian faithful - but a
big win against poor Gateshead is crucial next weekend.
Only 271 were in attendance.
The result takes Whitehaven's pointy tally to minus three, after they were
slapped with a nine-point deduction for going into administration. The
Scorpions, meanwhile, just have Sunday’s bonus point to show for themselves so
far.

If the teams go in at half time with the score at 6-4 and the second half follows the pattern it did then Scorpions win the game 18-16. As it was the mistake and subsequent break away try proved costly.
Then there was the double knock on in the second half, from what I saw first by Scorpions then by the Haven man. How this could be waved as play on is beyond me. Have a scrum and Haven head and feed yes but not let play go on and the Haven player to run under the posts.
If the mistake isn't made or the right decision made by the ref then maybe the tries are not scored and Scorpions win. The team are slowly growing this season and I feel our first win can come this Sunday against Gateshead. Bring it on.
