2013 an important year for Rugby League

The new year is now the current year with good news and bad news all around us. The weather is bad and it's freezing cold but the spring is only a month or so away and the new Rugby League season starts very soon. The success and the support Team GB received last year shows how the country can get behind it's minority sports, let us work towards a thrilling RL World Cup this autumn.

The game needs to be appreciated by more people, the converted know that it is a fine sport and a great spectacle when played between two competitive teams. The Scorpions have a great chance of making a real mark next season and we should all get behind them in their promotion push. Similarly the Wales RL team need us behind them 100% in the build up to the World Cup tournament, in the not too distant past Wales had thrilling runs in the tournament and were supported by thousands of fans. Let's do all we can to raise the profile of the sport - it has never been more appropriate than to bring a friend...
