With less than a week to go before the start of the Rugby League World Cup, co-hosts and third favourites for the tournament England lost to Italy in their final warm up internaional at Salford on Saturday afternoon.

The result coupled with the USA's win over France highlights that the World Cup may hold one or two surprises. 

As is well documented it all starts on Saturday 26th October in Cardiff with the opening ceremony and a double header of games featuring England v Australia and then Wales v Italy.
