Scorpion-conquerors march on as Rangers light up Cup

York City Knights, conquerors of the Scorpions, are one of three League One clubs left in the Challenge Cup following their 58-8 demolition of Featherstone Lions.
The Knights had a tough third round tie at Mountain Ash against the Scorpions, but eased passed the Lions with a convincing win.
North Wales Crusaders and Swinton Lions are the other League One clubs remaining in the competition, as well as amateur outfit Leigh Miners Rangers, who stunned Oxford with a 32-6 win, and are the lowest ranked club left in the competition.
Quick shout out for Rangers – it is fantastic to see them dump Oxford out of the Cup.
Ahead of the game, the amateur club were informed that Oxford did not wish for the tie to be played at their Twist Lane home. Instead, the fixture took place at Leigh Sports Village, at a cost of £3,000. With their players having to pay subs to play, many followers of rugby league were enraged by the call to move the game – but the last laugh goes to the National Conference League side.
Four Super League clubs - Hull FC, Hull Kingston Rovers, Wakefield and Salford City Reds – enter the competition at the fifth round stage.
