Scorps target two in a row for first time in 27 months

South Wales Scorpions will look to win back-to-back games for the first time since April 2013 on Sunday, as Gloucestershire All Golds visit Mountain Ash.

Long-suffering supporters were finally given something to celebrate last weekend as the Scorpions showed great character to grab a 26-20 win at the Skolars. The away-day triumph ended an 11-month wait for a win, and gives the club a huge opportunity to heal wounds among a hurting fanbase and take the team forward.

All Golds sit 11th in the table, and have won three league games this season. They head into the game on the back of five straight defeats, but will still pose a major test for South Wales, who remain underdogs.

However, this summer battle with the University club has to be targeted as another possible win. Neil Dallimore, Connor Farrer and Jordan Sheridan are all in line to return are missing the Skolars game, boosting spirits ahead of a game which will see Steve Parry face his former club.

Victory would see the club win successive games for the first time in almost 27 months. Back in April 2013, Scorps beat Oxford and Rochdale by two points apiece.

The Scorps are also seeking out their first win over a club which isn't London Skolars for more than two years. That was a 16-14 win over Hemel Stags in June 2013.
