I just noticed that the U16s are playing Hemel & London select at Taffs Well 3pm on Sunday 19th July, surely it would have been better to have played that game at Mountain Ash prior to Scorps game, that way a larger paying audience would attend, yet another business opportunity goes begging. When will they learn?

Whilst taking your point in principle, in real world does anyone other than perhaps an interested parent really see the chance to watch an U16 game as a more compelling reason to go to the "main event "?

I think not.

The main event and the first XIII is what I pay to see. I have paid to watch the odd schoolboy international (one at Cerphilly I recall) but I have to agree with jd1664 that the crowd would really only be boosted by family members of the youngster playing.

Good luck to them and this is no criticism but the product we need to get right to get people through the turnstiles is the first team.

For the Hemel game I am bringing a rugby union referee and specialist who has never seen a live rugby league game in his life before. Nothing would give me greater pleasure than a home win for the Scorpions. COME ON SOUTH WALES!!

Don't get his opinion on the scrums then......

The chap in question is a work colleague, claims to hate RL but has never seen a game live. I joke about the union fans seeing more of the ball than the players and the second rate ballerinas in the line out - all to no avail.

If only some people would accept that there is more than one sport!!!

Hence I would love a win - he could become our lucky mascot!!

Agreed that U16s is not a crowd puller to any main event and it would be only parents and friends interested in this game, never the less with attendance at such a low every pound raised at the gate is a bonus. With poor results The Scorps pulling a crowd in is a long way off. Even an extra 50 paying customers would hugely boost the low attendance and maybe help spread the enjoyment of Rugby League in South Wales.

Rogero: You would likely agree that there is room for both League and Union in Wales, by my own experiences Im afraid if an out and out Union fan has made their mind up that they dont like League before they have even seen a live game the likelihood is that they will stick to their guns and maintain their stance on opinion, I hope your friend becomes converted and its a really good game for you both

Unfortunately this is not of Scorpions doing. The Hemel teams said they could only field an under 16 side if they travelled on the same bus and therefore played at the same time. We tried our best to do a double header but Hemel said it was that or nothing.

Just a query about the York game next week...... Can I assume that we are not going to bring forward the KO time so that their team can sod off early again.

I will update the prediction league and the story BUT why on earth are we playing a game at 6pm on a Saturday - is it to really brass off York!!
