On The Road.... Part Two
By Dragons' Den
November 8 2012
Over the next three months London Welsh supporters get to visit three more Premiership grounds, albeit one being for a fixture in the LV= Cup. Dragons' Den brings you the second in a series of brief guides and this time focuses on Gloucester, Northampton and Worcester. We hope that the home supporters will add their comments and tips on making each of these journeys an enjoyable day out.
Gloucester
Kingsholm Stadium
Kingsholm Road
Gloucester GL1 3AX
Kingsholm is only a short walk from the city centre and therefore you can find plenty of places to eat and drink before and after the game. One disadvantage of this location is the limited parking in the surrounding area and therefore supporters making their way to the match by car are advised to use the Park and Ride service. Click here for full details including directions to the ground.
Tickets prices start at £19 for the terrace climbing to £47 for the best seats. A £4 early booking discount is available on all tickets until the Thursday before the match. Click here for the price categories.
Tickets can be bought online (click here) or via the booking office (0871 871 8781). Office hours are Mon - Weds 8.30am to 5.00pm, Thurs 8.30am to 6.30pm, Fri 8.30am to 3.30pm. It is also open on matchdays from 5 hours before kick off.

Northampton
Northampton Saints RFC
Franklin's Gardens
Weedon Road
Northampton
NN5 5BG
Match tickets are on sale via Saints' website (click here) or from their ticket office (01604 581000). The office is open Mon to Weds 12 noon – 5pm, Thurs 12 noon – 7pm, Fri 9am – 5pm, Sat 9am – 12 noon and on match days 9am – 5pm.
Adult ticket prices are as follows:
Tetley Stand Block A, G & H £38.00
Church's Stand Blocks S, Y & Z £38.00
CHU R £38.00
South East & South West Corners £32.00
Burrda Stand Lower & Upper £32.00
Terrace £28.00

There is plenty of pay and display parking near the ground and this is clearly sign posted. Click here for Northampton's directions to the ground and parking.
Worcester
Worcester Warriors
Sixways Stadium
Warriors Way
Worcester
WR3 8ZE
Many London Welsh supporters will have seen the changes take place at Sixways over the years and the original stand is now dwarfed by the rest of the stadium.
Despite being quite a distance away from the city centre there is no on-site parking for visiting supporters and therefore you have to 'park and walk' or use one of the park and ride services. Click here for details.
The stadium has a small standing area (adult tickets £23) whilst adult seat prices vary from £26 to £42 depending on location. A £4 discount is offered on internet/advance sales up to 4.30pm on the last working day before the match. Click here for the online ticket office. If you prefer to make your transaction by phone then the number you need is 01905 454183 (option 2).

Also there is a new beer tent/marquee offering up to a dozen beers. There's even a little bar serving Pimms and Pimms alone (or at least there was on my last visit). The main club house has far and away the most efficient bar service in the Premiership.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to Kingsholm in a little over a week. I saw you had asked for hints and tips so I wanted to drop you a note.
Kingsholm is a friendly place (for the main) and you should have a great experience wherever you are. I personally find the Shed is the best atmosphere, I have tried the different stands but find it is more exciting when you are in a packed shed than anywhere else. In order to get a good spot you will need to get there early, I don't expect it to be packed for a LV= game but don't expect to get a prime spot 10 minutes before the game. 40 minutes to an hour early are usually sufficient to be able to find a good view but you are looking at 2 hours to secure a front row space (watch out for people spreading their flags out to save space, they can get very protective!)
Beer in the ground is not ridiculous money. Real ale is a special for Alex Browns benefit year and very nice indeed, be warned however that Real ale almost always runs out before half time!
For afterwards (and before if you like a sit down) there are many good pubs around the ground. The Deans Walk is a particular favorite if you can get in with good Ale, The Pelican also is a good bet (Link) on the Kingsholm road end there is Teagues Bar and The kingsholm inn (the Jockey) which are both reasonable pubs.
The ground is in reasonable distance from the train or station if you are going for public transport. If you are going to drive it is becoming more difficult to park. Beware of the shopping center (with tesco etc) who have a policy of restricting vehicles to 90 minutes on match days. There is parking at the Winfield hospital[off tewkesbury rd] which is £4 per car or The Gala club at the bottom of fairmile gardens [Left off tewkesbury rd] do parking and a pint for £3.
Failing this there is some on-street parking on and around Denmark Rd which is only a short walk to the ground. This may be better for those in the shed who are early enough to take advantage. Be careful to park legally however as there are often tickets issued to those who park badly in this area, normally however there is no problem.
There is also a park and ride available and some further details available on the club site

Hope you have a good trip and I shall see you in the Shed!
If you want to stand with your fellow London Welsh supporters you will need to make sure that you all order tickets for the same block. Terrace D is where the away allocation would normally be if your own ticket office was dealing with it, so you may all want to go for that block as there should be more tickets available there than in the other blocks.
