This is a summer of great disconetnt for all rugby supporters as three of our greatest clubs hit the buffers. However, it is reassuring that Blues and other clubs have their heads down and preparing for a new season and a, hopefully, a more stable future.

At this time of year many supporters are eager for news of new signings. This year it is just a relief to know that some familiar and highly respected players are staying

Jacob Fields is the latest and he commits to his eighth season at Goldington Road - making him  the longest serving forward.  Dean Adamson and Sean French have also signed off for season 23-24.

They wll be joined by loosehead Jamie Jack. The 26 year old moves down from Edinburgh.

It's good to have some positive news.
