The mere fact that Championship clubs are being allowed a glimpse of the top table with their inclusion in the Premiership Cup for the first time is a major step forward - both in perception of second tier clubs and the opportunities it provides for players to shine. And while eyes are focused on the World Cup we have some exciting games in prospect including a home game against Tigers.
Blues are in Pool B together with Sale, Leicester, Newcastle, Ampthill and Caldy.
Our games will be:
Sale Sharks v Blues - Saturday9th - 5:30pm
Newcastle Falcons v Blues- Friday September 15th - 7:45pm
Blues v Caldy – Saturday September 23rd - 3pm.
Ampthill v Blues – Saturday September 30th - 3.00pm
Blues v Leicester Tigers – Saturday October 7th - 3pm
Worth noting that the two home games are included in the season ticket.
The way this competition has been structured sees 22 teams in the Premiership and Championship being split into two pools of six and two pools of five. There are five group matches followed by semi-finals featuring each pool winner in February 2024 and a final in March.
Each week one of the games will be live on TNT Sports (formerly known as BT Sport) but we might have to wait until the semi-final before Blues are featured..
