Captain Jonny

Jonny is the man to captain Falcons this season. The 23 year old says it is one of his "career goals" to captain his club side and is certain it won't affect his performance as he also helps England in their World Cup bid.

It wasn't much of a surprise when the mercurial goal kicker was unveiled as Pat Lam's replacement .... although there was a case for Hugh Vyvyan taking over the job.

But, as ever, Wilkinson is focused on the job in hand and says:"It is a career goal and something I very much want to do. I enjoy responsibility and I will enjoy being part of the coaching and management team."

He has returned to KP after a rare long break from rugby and says he is fit and eager for the new season,

But there's no word yet on who will be vice-captain.
