Serves Them Right

Rob Andrew was understandably happy with the way Falcons beat Wasps. The visitors conceded 26 penalties while we conceded only six. The result was that Wilkinson kicked them out of the game and it revealed a new steely edge to our game.

Rob said:" If a team consistently infringes like they did then they'll give away lots of penalties which we'll happily kick and in Jonny we've got one of the best kickers of the world.

"We didn't want to win by penalties, we wanted to play good rugby. But if a team prevents us from doing that then we'll take the three points. We're starting to learn that there's more than one way to win a game and we deserved this victory."

Wasps coach Warren Gatland said: "We've only got ourselves to blame. Our discipline was terrible and you can't afford that against a kicker like Jonny Wilkinson. We made some openings in the match but there really aren't many positives to take away - our discipline was bad and we didn't take our chances."
