Things Can Only Get Better

Things are going from bad to worse for Falcons. Epi may be out for weeks with damage to his knee ligaments creating an even bigger crisis in our creaking back row. Ironically the news comes as Falcons confirm that out of favour Andrew Mower is to play for the MacFalcons.

Poor old Epi took the knock from the unstoppable Tim Stimpson. He knocked the hard running Tongan sideways with a big tackle just on half time in the debacle at Welford Road.

Epi is having scans to determine the extent of the damage. He may not yet be the finished article as a flanker, but at least he has the ability to take the game to opponents ... and always takes a couple of players [or a Stimpson with something to prove] to stop him.

Now it looks like the back row to take on Tykes will be drawn from Arnold, Dowson and either Devonshire or Dunbar. Otuvaka is waiting in the wings, but doesn't yet look mobile enough to keep up with the Premiership pace.

We will also have to wait on fitness reports on Stevo's shoulder, which he aggravated at Tigers, and Jamie Noon's elbow....Noonie was one of the few players to come back up the M1 with any credit.
