Kyle Cooper comes in at hooker after scoring from the bench last time out, Trevor Davison starting at loose-head prop. Darren Barry makes a second appearance for the club following his summer move from Worcester, while Joel Hodgson replaces Toby Flood at fly-half.
Director of rugby Dean Richards said declared himself happy with the improvement shown from their 21-8 victory at Jersey to last weekend’s nine-try showing against Doncaster, explaining: “When we reflected after the Jersey game it was probably us as a coaching staff who were to blame, because we’d asked the players to ease themselves in. Hartpury again make a number of changes for the visit of the Falcons, the last of three Championship Cup games which open the current season. With a relatively light injury list, Saturday’s selection suggests on-going rotation as the management. One player who has done more than enough to impress the coaching staff, new signing Seb Nagle-Taylor, is partially rested by a move to the bench, with Will Safe – after two good appearances as a replacement – getting a start at Number 8.
The experienced Akapusi Qera and Dan Murphy will become the only forwards to have started in all three cup fixtures so far, while tight-head Alex Gibson will make his first start of the campaign. Young lock, Harry Butler, who has also appeared for Gloucester in this season’s Premiership Cup, joins Joe Batley in the second row.
The starting half-backs remain the same, although there is a new pairing in the centre where the promising Joe Margetts will be joined by former Hartpury AASE-winner and England age-group player, Jack Reeves, who made three first-team appearances for Gloucester in 2018-19.
The wingers are unchanged for the third successive week, while Mike Wilcox returns at full-back, with George Simpson taking a place on the bench. Prop, Ashley Challenger, in his first season at Hartpury, is also among the replacements.

Score doesn’t really reflect the shift that Hartpury put in, but if it weren’t for us giving a way numerous penalties we could have scored a couple more.
Great to see the younger members of the team getting game time.
