Hunt For Prop

Rob Andrew is on the phone looking for a prop in time for Wednesday's visit of London Irish. Ian Peel was injured in training on Saturday and it means we are now short of cover in the specialist front row after Micky War's injury. But that didn't stop Rob celebrating the superb victory over Sarries.

He said: "Some of our play in the second half was as good as I've seen all season. I wasn't pleased when we went 13-0 down so early on but we were in full control after our first try and we got what we deserved after half-time.

"That was one of our best performances all season. We've got the makings of a half-decent side - we play with pace and skill and we can cause sides a lot of problems."

"We've got a massive game against London Irish - it's going to be a real climax to the league season.

Micky Ward went off with a shoulder injury in the 50th minute to be replaced by George Graham who will alsmot certainly start against Irish on Wednesday. But the only other cover is one of the young hookers. Matt Thompson would be most likely after he came on for Steve Brotherstone with Nick Makin also available. James Isaacson started the season in the first team squad but then wnet to Mowden Park on loan and is now in Australia for the summer.

Ron explained:"We've now got major problems in the front row. Ian Peel pulled a hamstring so we've only got two props. We'll have to take someone on loan as an emergency. We can't actually field a team at the moment because we haven't got front row cover."
