Back Row Injury Problems

Andrew Mower and Jon Dunbar face fitness battles this week as Falcons prepare for the play off encounter at Glaws on Saturday [kick off 3.00p.m.] Both were injured in the latter stages of the first half at Saints and must be rated very doubftul.

Epi Taione is already missing because of his broken hand so Rob could end up playing Lam, Arnold and Devonshire with very little cover.

He went for experience against Saints with Dunbar, Mower and Arnold starting the game and he would doubtless have liked to do the same against the big Gloucester pack.

For all sorts of reasons this will be an epic game in front of 10,000 Shedheads who will doubtless be looking forwrd to a Falcons hammering. But we more than held our own at Saints with Vyvyan scoring one of the tries of the season and Jonny Wilkinson a class apart. If we can get some decent ball to him we have the talent to beat Glaws on what should be a decent surface.

Even if we do get beaten we could still win the major prize. Falcons have finished sixth in the league which will provide us with a Heineken Cup place if both Wasps and Bristol lose next weekend.

Brizzle are at Tigers so no chance there while Wasps will be up against it at second place Sale. We'll have to wait till Sunday to find out the result of that one.
