Grindal Signs

Rob Andrew has moved quickly to provide competition and cover at scrum half following the departure of Gary Armstrong. He has signed 21 year old James Grindal the third choice No 9 at Welford Road who was hailed as a boy wonder when he made his debut alongside Andy Goode in 1999.
Since then Grindal has slipped back in the rankings behind Jamie Hamilton and Harry Ellis and is now looking for a new challenge.
No doubt Rob has told him that he is not coming as automatic second choice next season so the pressure will be on Hall Charlton.
He has made no secret of his ambitions after joining Togers from Nuneaton along with schoolmate Goode who, coincidentally, has juts left Tigers for Sarries.
Grindal made only one strating appearance for Tigers in the past season and was a replacement just three times . In all he has made 17 appearances scoring four times.
He is 5ft 9ins and weighs just over 13 stones.
