Come & Play With The Boys

It's the opportunity every female Newcastle Falcons fan has secretly been waiting for! A chance to play with the boys... It's time to get off our backsides, remove our elbows from the bar and dig out the rugby kit, Falcons Touch Rugby tournament has returned - honestly what did you think I meant?
Past glories
You may recall that certain readers of this site took part in last seasons event held on August 31st down on Tynemouth Beach, well this season it's at Kingston Park!
Help! I caught the ball - what do I do now?
Last season saw Alchemist's motley crew acheived a stunning record of three games played and three losses and retired gracefully to the bar. High fitness levels, an ability to catch a rugby ball and then run with it were not required (thank goodness) just enthusiasm! This season teams will benefit from having some expert advice and support on the day (as opposed to Alchemist's pre match 10 minute "Mally this is how you catch a ball" chat!) as each team will be given a player from the Falcons first team squad as Player/Coach for the evening.
So who can play?
Anyone can play, any age, male or female, expert or inept (i.e. like me!) and trust me no one will be worse than I was last year! Whether you play every week or if the nearest you get to playing is ogling Tom May from the touchline, then you're eligible!
So when is it?
The Festival going to be held at Kingston Park, on Wednesday 12th May, kicking off at 6.30pm and finish at 9pm.
Games will be 7-a-side to be chosen from a squad of up to 10 players.
How much is it?
The cost per team is £100 (that's only £10 each) and all the money going to the Soa Otuvaka Benefit Fund so it's fun in a good cause.
Nice Shiny Trophy for the Mantlepiece
Newcastle Rotary Club have donated a solid silver trophy, worth over £4,000. However it's not the winning that's important - it's the taking part and raising lots of dosh for the Soa Fund...
That and enjoying the barbeque and the bar!

According to the club many teams have already entered and it promises to be a great night. If anything it's sounds like it's going to be even better than before so I'm willing to give this another go, as I had a brilliant time last year. So we need 9 more volunteers required and we can have a supporters side. Anyone game?
