Purpose
The
Amateur Club plans to achieve a great deal during the coming season and in
order to meet our objectives we need help from the membership with a variety
of tasks. For far too long the
burden of running YOUR club
has fallen to a small number of volunteers.
We need to update our approach to administering our Club by adapting a
new way of thinking about how we run our Club.
Sharing
the Load
is an initiative to involve a wider range of members in the affairs of the
Amateur organisation and ultimately to achieve our key strategic objective of
a strong amateur organisation.
How
can you help ?
- Each
age group or team should nominate two representatives to help with
Club-wide roles.

are we looking for?
- Members
who are
- doers
not talkers
- prepared
to undertake a role/job and take accountability for such

to undertake a task as a volunteer but execute it in a professional manner

who is genuinely interested in helping our Club become a strong and vibrant
organisation be they;
- young
/ not so young

/ non player
What type of input is required?
In
all cases volunteers willing to help out will be able to review a job definition
and agree it with the Executive. In
return we will guarantee that volunteers will NOT be asked to take on additional work outside the scope of the job
description. In addition we plan to
provide on the job training.
The
list below is not exhaustive but indicates the wide range of talent required to
run our club:-
- Duty
Managers to take responsibility for Sunbury & St Paul’s on Sunday
mornings, Saturday afternoons and on training nights.
- Doctors
and/or Nurses to join the medical support team and participate in a roster
for Saturdays and Sundays at Sunbury.
- Physios
to compliment the existing team – Saturdays & Sundays.
- Coaches
to support Youth Development Initiative and Adult sides.
- Administrators
to support Referee bookings.
- Anyone
with Database Administration expertise and experience.
- Event
organisers to join teams responsible for running club events.
- Assistant
Treasurers.
- Correspondents
– anyone who can write press articles for weekly Irish Post and Local
Press match reports, Rugby World, Up & Under and our Club magazine In
Touch.
- Anyone
with HR expertise to support

- Club
Shop sales assistants to support the new Club Shop Manager.

for Club representation at the 2003 St Patrick’s Day Parade.
- People
with IT skills to help with Club Website development and other technology
initiatives such as web enabled processes.
- Members
with marketing, public relations, copywriting skills.
- Anyone
with time to spare to help with general administrative tasks.
