To be or?
By The COYSDC Poets

This week poetical stalwart West Midlands Saint is joined by Binary Bob and Maverick for COYSDC's own unique brand of poetry. If you'd like to have your rhymes make the front page then simply post your contributions on the message board.

There's no other site quite like Tigs
With its humour and banter and digs
So with no more ado
We will discuss with Pooh,
Beano's clothes and young LTA's wigs.
Binary Bob
One thing I could never figure,
Is why you'd wanna be a Tigger,
For in numbers that post,
Northampton has the most,
The Saints are so much bigger.
WMS
As Mo staggered out of the pub
He gave both his eyes a good rub
And gave a huge sigh
'Cos there - walking by
Was Bruce going home from the club.
WMS
This evening you're all off to Beds:
Course the Jimmies'll tear 'em to shreads.
Though the clubs have joined forces
Blues're still just cart horses,
And Saints are all pure thoroughbreds.
Binary Bob
With two captains its not clear,
Who should lead without fear,
For instead of one voice,
We now have a choice,
A decision that could cost us dear.
But two captains on the day,
May change the way we play,
From scrum to the back,
Will be yacketty-yack,
To blow the opposition away.
In my mind there's little doubt,
The Saints still have the clout,
To play the great game,
Without any shame,
But 2 Captains? The Jury's still out.
WMS
This could be the year of the fez
Or so broonie "Air Analyst" says
But can Jimmies win honours
Now we've signed Mark Connors?
Or should I be calling him Des?
Getting back here is such a relief
Though my absence was, thankfully, brief
The undoubted highlight
From last week on this site
The song penned by air Mav'rick an' Beef.

It's the 18th of August you know
And though I'm a little bit slow
I got here in the end
And I'd just like to send
Birthday Greetings to Mighty Young Joe.
Maverick
The season has not yet begun
But we're looking forward to nine months of fun
What, with the new West Side
We'll use the stadium with pride
And drink to our boys when we've won!
WMS
So Sall it's your Birthday today
I hope that you have lots of laffs.
But remember - don't overdo it.
You should be revising your Maffs.
And now that you're down in the Midlands
The temptation is hard to resist
And believe me Pythagoras Theorem
Is tricky when totally under the weather.

To the tune:
Under the Bridges of Paris.
How would you like to be
Down at the Saints with me
Oh what I'd give for a Ben try or two
When Jimmies are playing 'gainst Paris, for you.
Mon amis, in the crowd
Remember to sing out loud
When Jimmies are playing 'gainst Paris for you
They'll make your dreams come true
How would you like to be
Down at the Saints with me
Sleights and Air Raspberry running in tries
Under the posts right in front of your eyes.
But Cherie, don't get too tight
Drinking into the night
Don't spend all your money, though the French will be blue
They're open on Sunday too!
Au revoir
Oest Mids Saint
