We've talked about it for weeks now, the route's been tested, the T-shirts have been ordered, the sponsor forms are ready and now the club are also interested in helping. So now it's time for action, here's the very latest up date on the COYSDC charity walk in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

In the last six months three members of our online community,
here at COYSDC have suffered heart attacks. Fortunately for us all, none of
these events have been fatal and our friends are still with us. This has prompted
us to take action and it has been agreed by all to hold a sponsored walk
in aid of British heart Foundation
.
The route, which has already been tested by David Ball, Bleach and myself, starts in the Saints car park and takes an approximately 6 mile circular route to Kislingbury and back. Most Saints fans will be quite surprised by the scenery of the route as it takes in nature reserves and country paths. We completed the walk at a leisurely pace in under two hours , so it should be ok for most people. Part of the route can be very muddy so I would advise sensible footwear (walking boots or similar, although trainers would be ok if you don't mind getting wet muddy feet) with maybe a change of shoes and trousers waiting in the car if you're going to the match after. I hope to put a map on the site at a later date. The proposed time of starting is 11 O'clock on Saturday December 7th (date of Heineken cup pool match against Cardiff) which means that everyone should be back at the Gardens in plenty of time for food and drink before kick off.

Oxford Saint has designed the following T-shirt logo for
the event.
Stockers has got the Jetsco multinational wheels in motion
and we have ordered large and extra large, printed on black T-shirts. To
keep costs down and to maximize the donation to the BHF these are value weight.
To take part in the walk we are asking for a participation fee of £10 this covers the cost of the T-shirt and makes a donation to the BHF (Stockers has arranged for Jetsco to pay part of the t-shirt price so that £5 per shirt is donated). Again, in order to reduce costs I will actually bring the T-shirts with me to the event and will take money on the day.
I have been in contact with Sian Haynes at theSaints and she will get back to us next week with details on how the club will assist. I'll update everyone then. The important thing now is to get the sponsor forms filled.
So what do you have to do to take part?
It's simple really just e-mail me on:
richard@saints27500.fsnet.co.uk
I will send you a copy of the sponsorship form and then it's down to you lot to get those sponsors, start with the family, then friends and make sure you pester the work colleagues. After that turn up on the day and join in.
