COYSDC Rugby Oscar Nominations 2011

Best Actor:

Or should this be over-actor?  Delon Armitage going a bit crazy over a random drug test.  A close second was Jimmy Cowan for the Highlanders who feigned injury until Ma’a Nonu was red carded after a big hit, just to get with a smile on his face.  Cheeky.

Supporting Actor:

Any touch judge.  Seriously.

Best Actress:

A tricky one this one, but in the end the winner is any footballer.

Supporting Actress:

Any other footballer who isn’t Best Actress.

Animated Feature:

Martin Johnson in the booth in any England match.  Just like a supporter, only more angry.

Up.  Quite simply a much better option than ‘Down’, or ‘non-mover‘ for that matter.

Cinematography:

Claire J, and the rest of our crew of snappers.

Documentary

Will Greenwood’s mini-doc about playing for the Olney team against ON’s.  Good on you fella.

Best Short:

Paul Diggin.  I couldn’t resist it.  The man is still as pumped up as ever and always puts this club first.  He is an example to the rest of them.  Shane Williams.

Foreign Language:

Welsh.  To watch ‘Rygbi’ in Welsh is genius to say the least: (lots of L’s, lots of D’s...Thomas... L’s, D’s the occasional other consonant... Williams) and so on.

Makeup:  Orange Gav.  No competition.

Short Movie:

Again Orange Gav.  Making a mockery of Sarries and himself in equal measure.  Well done that man (now stay over there, we don’t want you here).

Original score:

Paul Diggin’s dive.  NOT ASHTON’S!

Picture

The picture of all our faces, home and away after the 30 metre scrum against Newcastle.  Second was again Delon Armitage when he landed on his arse after JC side-stepped him.

Visual Effects:

When England came out at the Millenium Stadium.  A tiny puff of smoke is all you need.  Not the near apocalyptic scenes which greeted Wales’ arrival.

Writing:

I’ll leave it up to you.

If you think of any more, please add your own.
