News: Changes to Stadim:MK for the HC Semi Final

By COYSDC
April 28 2011

Following the Quarter Final, and drawing on lessons learned Stadium:MK has issued the following information to help supporters on Sunday.

A number of changes have been made to ensure supporters of Northampton Saints and Perpignan can enjoy the best possible experience stadiummk has to offer for the Heineken Cup Semi-Final match on Sunday 1st May.

The supporters' village is back by popular demand but this time the area will be enclosed, the only way to gain access to the village will be to enter the stadium using a match ticket. Supporters will then have full access to both the stadium and village facilities, and can move freely between the two areas before and during the game. The stadium and village will open at 12 noon.

The village has also been extended to cover the length of the East Stand and two Heineken beer trucks will be parked up ready to serve thirsty fans.

Extra beer fonts have also been stepped up to deal with the demand with the stadium increasing the dispensing units on the concourse from 18 to 54.

The ground was chosen as Northampton Saints' home for their Quarter Final clash against Ulster, which they won 23-13, three weeks ago, and the governing body of European Rugby, the ERC, decided stadiummk was the perfect venue for the Semi-Final between Saints and Perpignan.

Although the Saints have home country advantage, stadiummk is a neutral venue for the European clash and will be run as an MK Dons and ERC event.

A record 21,309 spectators attended the Quarter-Final, and stadiummk is set for another landmark day when the Saints meet the Frenchmen for a place in the Cardiff Final.

PARKING

Anyone who has not booked a car parking pass for stadiummk should avoid the area immediately surrounding the stadium as all parking has sold out. There will be no paid parking available on the day for either cars or minibuses. Without a valid parking pass you will not be granted entry to any of the stadium car parks. Coach parking is available and will be charged at £20 on entry.

Supporters travelling by car are requested to park responsibly, legally and with respect to local residents and businesses in Bletchley, Denbigh and the other suburbs within walking distance of the stadium. Retail parks and food stores may have their own parking control operations in action on Sunday, and stadiummk cannot take any responsibility for decisions made by supporters as to where they choose to park.

There is ample car parking in Central Milton Keynes, with both a scheduled bus service (service no 1) and a shuttle bus service in operation from Milton Keynes Central Railway Station (bus stop 36). The first shuttle bus is at 10am and will run every 15 minutes until 2.45pm.

There are 300 free car parking spaces at MK College on Chaffron Way in Central Milton Keynes and a dedicated shuttle bus service will operate from the MK College bus stop from 10.30am and then every 15 minutes until 2.45pm.

The shuttle bus service from Central Milton Keynes Railway Station and MK College, Chaffron Way is £2 each way.

Anyone wishing to drop off disabled supporters can do so by the Saxon Street entrance, but there will be no parking available unless already allocated.

The shuttle bus return journeys will operate from the stadium bus stops on Grafton Street from 5pm until 7pm (subject to variation in the event of extra time).

Those organising private hire taxis after the game are advised to arrange to meet the drivers in Dawson Road off Saxon Street on the east side of the stadium site, accessible via the pedestrian underpass adjacent to KFC on the east side of the stadium site.

Finally, for supporters who do have a parking pass for stadiummk, please be aware that traffic management plans will be in place during the exit of all car parks.

Please see the below maps for directions and drop off locations at stadiummk as well as shuttle bus information.

ncreasing the dispensing units on the concourse from 18 to 54.

I think that's called a statement of intent!

And the news about the village.

That's a statement of ex-tents

Scheduled bus service from the station is at 35 and 55 past the hour, from stop 38. Coming back the buses are timed to leave the ASDA stop at 07 and 47.

Please note that they will be minibuses only, with a seating capacity of about 35 and standing of 18.

The map above doesn't correspond to the map (aisles and gates) on the back of the tickets..

Does it?

For example, Aisle 24 is marked in two different places.

Is it my senility, or....?

The map was provided by Stadium:MK - it is after all their ground.

Dom,

Are you getting the aisle numbers and the block numbers mixed up?

There are 30 seating blocks, but 38 aisles. Once you get past block 9 the numbering of the blocks and aisles separates.

I was unable to make the quarters this year but I am coming up with my 12 year old. Do you know if they are o.k with flags as their tickets state no flags etc.

forestsaint - I think the regulations are basically the same as at FG, small flags will be fine.
