some correct answers so far
Q1 red sox are baseball the others play some sort of football
Q4 yes Cleggthorpe & GP - its " Links " e.g in a scotish butchers you will see Beef links ( sausages ) on sale .
Q6 was indeed the Sirs Worral Walcott & Weekes
Q7 st Marys is the Southampton Fc ground.
Q10 GP is close enough - but it was from Windsor great park -not the Palace. in 1908.

9 - I'm going for just England, Scotland, Wales & N Ireland, as although Jersey & Guernsey (and possibly the IoM) compete, they are not part of the UK.

True Clegthorpe, I can never remember whether they're counted as part of the UK as they are Crown dependencies.

Q9 depends on how you define the UK, but I would say 4: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all send separate teams to the Games. As defined by the government, they are the constituent parts of the UK.
However, on the international political stage the UK also represents the interests of the Isle of Man, the Channel Isles, the Falklands, St Helena, Bermuda and Gibraltar. Add those in and the number of teams that have represented the various nations, etc, at Commonwealth Games rises to 11.

GP-correct Sir Shrewsbury Town played at Gay Meadow until 2009 -it was famous for its slope.
So the angels and pinheads are out for Q9 - The intention of the question was to avoid at all costs the use of the term British Isles in case any neo imperialists started in on Ireland ( who dont particpate in the CWG anyway )
So i was looking for England Scotland Wales Northern Ireland and the IOM and Channel Ilses who i think have variously competed as the CI or as Geurnsey and Jersey.
Ps the question was inspired by seeing a Manx flag being waved at D Cavendish on Le Tour.

Q8 seems to be the only one left by the time this finally opened for me, so

Still none were as bad as the purple Saints kit.

Well done to Sarge - who got the one i thought would fool all commers. Trus no Gold medals awarded - Silver was the top rated medal.
Red Saint - late you may be but - on the ball
also NZ wore Grey in a match against Scotland - proably the silliest change ever as the NZ Grey and the muted heather effect of the Scots mauvish blue - didnt produce much of a contrast at all - mind you there was in the standard of play between them.
Well thats it - will have to produce something really fiendish for next round.

Wikipedia, as ever, gets some facts right...the Cobblers' season in Division 1 was 1965-66 and the game was 23rd April. Fulham won 4-2, meaning they finished just above the Cobblers and stayed up.
