Well done Saints on keeping the tryline 100% intact today. Well done also to Shane for cracking 100 points so quickly in the season and for keeping a 100% kicking record today.
It was a pleasure, after witnessing Booth's inconsistent kicking display, to inform the Tiggs supporters, who kept complaining about the Shane's concentration routine with such loud comments (when it was supposed to be quiet) as "get on with it" and "why does he take so long?" They were told by the faithful "because he never misses" and he didn't let us down. The boy's a star and the Tiggs supporters realised it big time. Biggysaint

Fully agree with Rob Hunter - he had a massive game in the loose (first up tackling especially) aswell as his usual sound game in lineout.... Dan P Cooper

sky will chignell just announced beal's drop goal was 60 metres!!!!  and drahm's pen was 57 metres  that is a deadly lesson to the rest!!!!    David Tavener

 

When it went over I looked @ Merry Maybank who was yards behind & due to utter surprise I'm sure took ages to raise his arm!...I said "..bloody hell, that was amazing!.", to which Mrs BBF said "..did it reach the touchline then?."  ..I said "..didnt you see it?.  it was a drop goal!."     BBF

 

It was a monster kick, I beleive its just landed out Cambridge.

Listening on the radio and enjoyed listening to Budge. When Adam (I think) noted with about ten minutes to go that some tigs were leaving, Budge commented something along the lines of "I'm not sure I agree with that". A few minutes later and Bruce has gone over to seal the game and Budge says, "Well, I think they've got good reason to leave now!"  Maverick

 

Winging & moaning about the ref ( title and spelling supplied by Saint Michael)

 

I had Reflink, and Chuter's yellow was for pulling down in the line-out.
The ref said that he didn't see who pulled Matt Lord down, and was going to let it go, but the touch judge interviened, saying that he had a number of a player, the ref asked the TJ what he thought, and he said, "simple, dangerous play, yellow".    Connect

 

I thought he was inconsistent at best - very sharp on the technical stuff, not so on some of the more "dangerous" aspects - for both sides, but definitely not the worst I've seen this year. Mark H

Magic moments from the stands

 

Magic moment/comment....Booth opts for kck at goal from in front of posts, Tig in front of me (good chap actually) says "Nooo! go for the corner (Both has missed 3 allready) Booth kicks ball goes way to the right of the right post. Saints supporter next to me says "well see he has gone for the corner after all" Oh what a day! I are now orf for a sherbert.Saintsby

 

With tiggs supporters in a state of high anxiety chasing a losing bonus point a huge Tigger kick is sent into Saints half.
"Drop it!" exclaims the Tiggs supporter behind me as Bealer runs hard to get under the ball.
"P*ss off !" says his colleague, "he's already stitched us up doing that!"

Well that was a rather nice weekend wasn't it?
My particular favourite - The Tigger fan I know who at half time said that much of what the ref did passed him by - to which I of course replied - 'Much like ALL Tigger followers then'. This was greeted by lots of scowls from all directions. WMS

 

I have to say the most satisfying part of the day, was sitting in a car full of tiggers fans and looking at the car in front which the "four in a row" sticker, priceless   Jamie Taylor

Congrats to the Saintly lot, esp their supporters who didn't rub our whiskered noses in it too much (phew, hehe). Just a pity both sides top players weren't there to make it an intense match (Cohen, Thompson, Johno, Corry, Kay etc).  Zara D

Loved it when we got a penalty on Tiggers's 10 yrd line & Mr Healy wouldn't let it rest giving Brucie & whoever was near a right mouthful so Merry Mr Maybank shows him the old "mouth,mouth,mouth" gesture with his hand & promptly moves the penalty forward 10 yards, after which our Shane slots it over!

Couldn't resist shouting a few choice comments myself then along the lines "..calm down Austin, your wig's slipping!.", but Mrs BBF told me to behave as we didn't want to upset the Tigger fans around us!   BBF

To celebrate or not to celebrate?

 

I don't feel like jumping up and down about yesterdays win. Last year the Saints marched into Welford Road and beat the Tigers by 'out-foxing' them. (I should get my coat for that really!)
This year it feels a bit hollow. Leicester seem very weak at the minute. To hear that our forwards dominated the set piece and Dean Richards talking of an "unacceptable performance" tells me that Tigers are in a very low place right now. It feels like kicking someone when they're down….  … It's lovely to win again at Welford road but it just doesn't feel right!   Rich Joe & Niamh’s Dad

 

Said very much the same last night to some Tigs in the bar Rich, not the same but a win at WR is a win.  However there were some who said 'we'll stuff you with all our players back' (although they couldn't last season) and 'when Leicester win the World Cup' and the its just us thats affected mentalitywhich made me feel a whole lot better about putting one over them. These were few and far between though and mostly the Tigs took it in good sport. Chris the Saint

 

There is currently no such thing as, and very rarely ever has been, a 'weak' Leicester team. Yesterday the second row was well below par but the rest - on paper - looked quite tasty. I honestly believe that, without a Stransky or Howard to direct the creativity then poor old Beano is struggling. Their 'understrength' pack still created a lot of good quality ball but little wit to use it - poor LTA is never a ten.
ANY win at POoh Corner is a good one. WMS

 Well I enjoyed my trip up to Welbad road and the win and yes they are a depleated side but so are we they have injuries and guess what so have we and have lost air Renult from the squad. and if im not mistaken Tiggs have a bigger squad than most of the zippee. ………The only thing that upset me at the game was after the final whistle we were on the terrace clapping the players and a tiggs fan pushed past some older chaps behind us and knocked one flying and didnt even say sorry. Let's not be too self deprecating. We won and won well at Welford Rd, a rare jewel to enjoy.
OK Tiggs are depleted but so are we…. We had our second choices on the field ……The big difference is that our "stand ins" are increasingly able to step up to the mark and play out of their skins so that the loss of "top" players is becoming less of an issue for us than it is for Tiggs.   Stockers

 

Rich man mucho respect ditto Chris BUT I am now going to fundamentally disagree with you as follows: Guys! And everyone else goes down this track PURLEASE! The RWC has (or should have been) on very coaches ‘radar’ for at least the last two years. The fact that Leicester/Saints/Wasps/bath were going to ‘loose’ players for at least the first quarter of the season was always on. Some, thank goodness planned ahead (Wayne & Uncle Keith for example) some didn’t. We won at Wellbad and we won well, so if that’s down to forward planning ……..So COME on enjoy! Deserve! And yes for a short amount of time allow yourselves the odd gloat! Saintsby

 

Like I said Bob, a win is a win at WR and i'm not in any way saying we didn't deserve it or that we shouldn't celebrate it (or even gloat), it's just it would have been nice to have put one over their full side (like we did last year) because then we wouldn't have had to hear all the excuses we heard on Saturday night. The very fact that they haven't got their house in order over the World Cup (which other clubs seem to have done) and we did play a depleted side didn't make it feel like it did last year. But then perhaps we are just getting used to it  Chris the Saint

 

I think that anyone who thinks that Tigs have a depleated side should look at the quality that is still there (and that includes their own supporters) ...... With the exception of Kronfield and Gibson the rest of the starting 15 have all represented England, whether it be Eng u16, u18, u19, u21, 7's, Eng 'A' and England and featured in the IRB u21's World Cup earlier this year. Rowntree and Healey have also represented British Lions. They have quality players at WR they are just lacking the X factor.  So let's be proud of what our boys did we won and we won well - Tigs will be back they have a very young talented side.... Having been told on countless occasions on Saturday afternoon that "you can see our first team in action tomorrow morning", I would have loved to have met those same folk in the Tigers bar at 10-0 down yesterday so the response could be "so that's why we're losing then".

One of my mates made the point on Saturday that some of us have been going there for twenty years and have had defeat after defeat rammed down our throats with what could hardly be described as banter (more abuse), so why shouldn't we we enjoy the victories and that we have the upper hand at the moment?
As Denise said, Tigers had the chance to recruit cover in the same way that Saints have, but didn't. Mark H
