Richmond v Blues

Blues are on the road again after their great performance against Warriors on Saturday. On paper the trip to Richmond is the easiest game the Blues have remaining this season. However if you have been a Blues fan a little while you will know that the easy games on paper are usually the hard games for Blues!
Although I feel this Blues team is a little different to some of out others.
Blues faced Richmond on Boxing Day and roan our winners 33-10 earlier in the season and Blues will be looking for 5 more points this weekend.
I am expecting a few players to be rested/rotated onto the bench with Chinnor and Ealing to come, but not that many.
Worcester are at Chinnor and Coventry are home to Cambridge.

If we win our next 2 games, we should get 2nd and a home semi final. After the loss to Nottingham though, we can’t afford any more slip ups.

I think we should be strong enough to beat Richmond, I'm expecting a loss against Ealing. I have concerns about the Chinnor game, they like to turn us over

This game has all the potential of being a 'banana skin' game, in fact this weekend there are a couple of similar games for 'form' clubs to slip up on.
However Mr Rayer will be selecting a strong team his eye is firmly on second place in the league.

If we secure 2nd there is every chance we could end up with Worcester at home in the semi finals.
The Ealing game may be a funny one as we may have fine enough so why risk some key players. Similarly Ealing may do the same.

I have no idea what Sylvester has done, he's played well this season when he has played, and he has the ability to wind up opponents which I enjoy

Concur with appraisal of Richmond game above. It is one we must not take lightly with two tricky games to come, albeit Chinnor at home. Cov's thumping of Cambridge shows their intent, moving them into third above Worcester, who have a difficult trip to Chinnor today. Mathematically, Warriors have not yet secured a fourth spot and have three tough games. Still all to play for at the top. At the other end, poor Cambridge are going down, but Richmond and Scottish still have a fight on as to who gets the home changing room. :-)

I thought the Blues were a bit lax today and could have won by more if they had tightened up their game just a bit.
Still they scored some great tries in front of what looked (and certainly heard) like a home crowd!
Coventry seem to be making a late run for second place.

I think there was a bit of sympathy reffing going on at the end that allowed Richmond 2 late tries and made the scoreline look closer than it actually was. Both yellow cards seemed extremely harsh.
5 points next week guarantees 2nd. Cov looking like the main threat to that now and likely semi final opponents.

Not too worried about the end of the game, it was a pretty comprehensive victory.
Good to see Sylvester come off the bench and again seemed to do a good job.
Big game next against Chinnor, but the week off will give some time for those like Ward and myabe James to recover to give some more options.

I heard unfortunately James is out for the rest of the season including playoffs with a hamstring injury.

Last I heard he was getting game time with Rosslyn Park.
