Battle At Brickfields

When you are down towards the bottom of a league every game becomes a battle. Mike Rayer  is on record as saying last week's defeat by Moseley featured lots of perspiration but precious little inspritation .. so he has made wholesale changes to the side which goes to Plymouth tonight ...

The most important thing for Blues supporters is that he has brought in some new faces.

Matt Hankin makes his first start in the back row after joining on dual registration from Sarries. Hooker TJ Harris has also arrived from  North Otago - he's been training with the Blues for a few weeks and now gets an opportunity off the bench due to  Scott Spurling's shoulder problem

James Short returns on the wing while Paul Tupai will be skipper .

That's the good news the bad news is that  Jake Sharp and Aaron Morris are both injured.

Blues: 15. Mike Le Bourgeouis, 14. Patrick Tapley, 13. Corey Hircock, 12. Ollie Dodge, 11. James Short,
10. Mark Atkinson, 9. Luke Baldwin, 1. Darren Fearn , 2. Charlie Clare, 3. Ben Cooper, 4. Mike Howard, 5. Paul Tupai (c)
6. Tim Jubb, 7. Matt Hankin, 8. Nick Fenton-Wells

Reps: TJ Harris,  Nico Steenkamp, Phil Boulton, Ben Gulliver,  Tom Armes,  Darryl Veenendaal, Brendan Burke.

I thought the nearer the equator you got the warmer it is. It's freezing down here.

Has commentary started, not sure it's working a bit like the Notts game

6-3 to Plymouth JW. Bedford playing like brass monkeys in the cold, they can't keep hold of the balls.

Commentary has been working for me OK, sounds a bit better, apart from the last 2 mins, going to be tough to come back into this one, need the 1st score!!

Hats off to the players, staff and supporters, I thought we were dead and buried at 13 - 3 down, brilliant comeback from the Blues, well done to all, lets hope it's the turning point. (Sm128)

Just up and ready to return home. Can feel fingers again.
Fair to say it was a very surprised Bedford contingent here last night.
Must go a fried breakfast awaits somewhere on the way home.

Great 2nd half come-back. 3 tries from the backs, good stuff and 100% kicking from Booj. I'm sure the boys had a good night.

Well done Blues , wasn't there but have always fancied Mark Atkinson at fly half , did it work ? Pleased to see MLB get his kicking boots sorted out too.

Mark had a good game, great interception for the 2nd try. However I prefer him in the centre as I think he makes more breaks from there good option though at fly half.

Booj had a great game at FB unlucky not to get MOM his kicking was awsome. The try saving tackle he made when it was 13 16 was brilliant had Plymouth scored then I don't think we'd have won.
