The Red Corner Wins

Jersey Reds showed why they are unbeaten at home this season as they took their chances to inflict a 29-13 defeat on a hard working Blues side ...

We had enough possession to force a better result, but ran up against a stout defence and an excellent counter attack.

Ryan Hutler did breach the home line in the first half - despite having the lion's share of territory after the break we couldn't cross again.

Prop Roy Godfrey finished a rare bit of Reds second half pressure  but the crucial phase came when Matt Worley was sin-binned for a deliberate knock on. From the pen the Red's line-out  Nick Selway scored to give the home side an untouchable 18 point lead.

So the run is over. Now Mike Rayer will have to pick the lads up for this week's visit of Coventry.
