14 Men Go Down

The sending off of Jordan Onojaife was the turning point in a game where Blues went down 39-24 but did their confidence no harm.
The red card was for an off the ball offence and left Blues down to 14 for almost an hour.
They started well with Pat Tapley crossing, followed by a superb team try started by a great pick up from Ed Prowse. The ball was moved swiftly with Will Maisey kicking through for Alex Day to score.
We the took the lead through Alex Woodfford after Pirates messed up a restart and were looking likely to build on that lead.
Unfortunately, the sendng off gave the initiative back to Pirates who managed the second half very well and ran out worthy winners.
Nottingham up next at Goldington Road

A great trip down to Penzance, where in the Microcomms stand we were made welcome by the home supporters. Shame about the speakers in the stand broadcasting a high pitch noise for the first 20 mins.
If we had kept 15 players on the pitch the second half would have been a different story. Jordan also 'lost it' against Ealing where he was lucky not to be seen by the officials. In the Championship you can no longer afford to lose players to a red card, as most of the teams are evenly matched. The days of a 'Darren Fox' rampaging around the pitch are 'sadly' gone.

The red mist rolled in off the sea I suspect. Too many cards affecting our season. Or have the referees changed?
