Blues will be more than happy with their showing at Saints where a strong home side eventually ran out 40-26 winners.

The Premiership boys were ruthless in their finishing, while Blues caused them problems with high balls and took every opportunity to run the ball back at them.

Blues tries came from Sean French who gave his side an early lead after taking a kick from Le Booj. Two tries in quick succession in the second half saw Jack Hughes finish off a driving maul followed by Ed Coulson going in under the posts after some great passing. Former Blues scrum half Tom James got one back for Saints only for Matt Worley to finish things off from a quick tap..
